Under our newly acquired "101 Strings" label, Madacy Entertainment Group, Inc. also owns original "Les Baxter" recordings. Baxter, known as the forefather of "Bachelor Pad" music has recorded many songs in which this type of music has caught on as a major "cult craze."

This new trend of "mood music" of futuristic 50’s and early 60’s is attracting an active young crowd that crave being hip. Of course, this trend began with the infamous "Pulp Fiction" soundtrack and the resurfacing of "surf" music. And in response to that, some parts of the country even have venues that support this lounge / pad / exotica lifestyle of music, such as the Lava Lounge in L.A.

For the late Les Baxter, he is becoming a household name to new enthusiastic fans of lounge music. His bachelor pad music sold out two shows at the Century Club in L.A. in early ’96, during the "all things lounge" - Exoticon convention. With that said, Madacy is proud to have 27 original Les Baxter recordings included in our repertoire.
